Privacy policy

Your Korean notebook belongs to you. Horang has no account system, advertising, analytics or tracking.

Information stored on your iPhone

Horang saves your notes, learning progress, review words, preferences, streak and chat history locally on your device. Horang does not operate a server that receives this information, and it does not create an account for you. Deleting the app may delete this local information, so please contact support before reinstalling if you need help preserving your progress.

Apple Intelligence

On supported iPhones, Horang uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework for the tiger tutor and note writer. Your prompts and generated notes are processed by that on-device model; Horang does not send them to a developer-operated server. AI responses can be inaccurate.

Microphone and speech recognition

If you choose pronunciation practice or voice input, Horang requests microphone and speech recognition permission. Korean speech is recognised on your device when Apple supports on-device recognition for it. Otherwise, Apple's speech recognition service may process your audio to produce text under Apple's own privacy practices. Horang uses the resulting transcript for the requested exercise and does not store your audio recordings. You can turn off these permissions in iPhone Settings.

Purchases and reminders

Apple handles Horang Plus subscriptions and purchases. Horang checks verified StoreKit entitlements to determine whether Plus is active. It does not receive your payment card details. If you enable a daily reminder, Horang schedules a local notification on your iPhone; you can disable it in the app or iPhone Settings.

Data sharing and retention

Horang does not sell your data or share learning data with advertisers. There is no developer-held copy of your notebook to request or delete. You can remove local app data by deleting Horang. Apple separately manages purchase records and any speech processing performed by its services.
